Well I have another set of towers ordered to add to my other fantastic RBH towers. It will be a few months before I see these.. I am needing some bookshelf speakers for the bedroom system. Yes, I guess I should have never sold my Sierra 2's. In any case, my budget is about 1000. Any thoughts on a really good speaker for this price range. These will be running with a sub so I have the low end covered. I was thinking of Just getting the Sierra 1. Or maybe even the SVS Ultra.. Does RBH have anything near this range in the Reference line? I am open for suggestions.

Bid on these, you should. I can't sing their praises enough. They're extremely overbuilt and so transparent. I know Lulimet takes care of his stuff, too.

The SX-61/R has an MSRP of $1,900, which you might be able to find for ~ $1300. The SX-61 (standard version) has an MSRP of $1,200 per pair, which you might be able to find for ~ $800. :D

I would for sure put them on a short list - they have real good high resolution

They are still my favorite bookshelf speakers at this time

How do the Golden Ear book shelf speakers rate.

Amongst all the ones mentioned, I've heard the Veras, a "version" of the Philharmonitors, and EMP E-41B (a distant cousin of the 61 SE/R, I think). I would rate all of them above the Golden Ears. Granted my audition of the GEs was brief and not ideal. But, the Golden Ears do have their set of fans too.

Thanks everyone. So many choices out there. Not an easy choice to make.

Might wait until after you get the Sierra towers. If you move the SX-6300/R to HT duty, then you might want to get SX-61 or SX-61/R if you prefer matching speakers for HT (of course, it's not necessary). :D
