Buy Cheap for TODAY or Save up Big for TOMORROW? Spend money on speakers/subs and buy cheap electronics?

I eventually went with the Last system I'll ever need to own regarding my espresso brewing, and I have no regrets.
It wasn't the first setup bought as I did buy a few cheaper options first, but looking back, I would've saved money if I went with the end-goal system first, skipping the more affordable options.
Unfortunately, that requires a significant amount of homework which no one except yourself can do.

What’s your espresso machine?
I share the sentiment. I think my biggest wish would be for dual boilers and a rotary pump. I have a Rancillio Miss Sylvia which is frankly doing quite a nice job, especially for the meager investment required. It’s biggest drawback is that I have never successfully steamed with it. (And that I’m a trained barista… this only frustrated me more!)

I have Quickmill Vetrano 2B Evo (PID, Dual Boilers. and Rotary Pump) and my grinder is Fiorenzato F4e nano v2. The grinder was bought as an open box for $495 and QM 2B for $2155. In addition, I have a Behmor 1600+ roaster in the garage.
Money wasted on:
a) Baratza Vitruozo
b) Gaggia MDF Grinder
c) Saeco Aroma

I lucked out with my grinder... I'm on my second one in 12 or 13 years. I chose the Lelit "Fred" conical burr, doserless, stepless.

The previous model lasted about 10 years, though I didn't do Espresso during part of that time.
I'm surprised this model is already discontinued.
Regardless, it works well for single dosing.

The biggest problem in our industry is how fast prices have increased due to inflation.

Pandemic related chip factory burning down related war related shipping and supply related

Our industry and many others have just got hit by a perfect storm of conditions that force buyers to sometimes have to settle on something right now.

There are AVR's and speakers that have just gone up so much in price. What you save may not keep pace with an uncertain market

So I sure can't fault buyers going cheap now and then waiting a long long time to go up to something better

That means you're not showing signs and symptoms of OCD yet.

Yeah, looks like the speakers are the only ones that aren't "big brand names".
But everything else is = Velodyne, JVC, Yamaha, Rotel, Samsung, Paradigm.

Ha... Not yet. I actually swore by Sonance for years, but after playing Monoprice in-ceilings right after hearing B&W in-ceilings I realized that the in-ceiling game is something of a racket. I'm not going to overpay for the same quality for sure. But, I would love some nice B&Ws... I do have some solid Def-Techs as well. So, it's just the in-walls/ceilings. I am definitely on the higher end of things with distributed video and audio and all Crestron, etc. I just shop via eBay more than the retail floor. I will wait a few years for pricing to come down and buy last years 'best of' at times to save a few bucks. Speakers are especially an area where used gear can save a lot of cash.

Is your Yamaha RX-A6A showing any signs of glitches? Over on the new Yamaha AVR thread, some guys are complaining of that HDMI 2.1 bug and maybe some other bugs.

I'm not playing in the HDMI 2.1 space at all. Most of my content is 1080p, and the 4K stuff has worked alright to this point. I just found myself in the need of new receivers this past year, so it's what ended up rolling into my home. No complaints so far.

If you ever want to head down the B&W route, let me know. I have B&W in-walls and in-ceiling. They're awesome! but I would like to try something else. So many great brands out there!

That's what I figured - for people who just want 4K movies/TV, the new Yamaha AVR (A4, A6, A8) are great.

But for guys who are into that gaming 4K/120Hz and HDMI 2.1, that may be an-issue until they get the new firmware updates.
