Knocking out projects around the house and I decided to hook up my old NAD and Focal 706’s as a garage system. Since I’m already running a Marantz AVR I figured adding some sort of HEOS to the NAD. Any suggestions on the cheap side, I’d like to keep it under $100. If that’s not possible any other WiFi Bluetooth streamers that would work? It will need to plug into a CD RCA input on a NAD 705
Their HEOS speakers don't have a line out, so your choices are:
HEOS Link or an AVR but nothing under $100 unless it's used.
BTW- the way you wrote 'WiFi and Bluetooth' seems to imply they're the same/similar and that's not the case.
How many locations do you want to send music to- just the NAD? Is the Marantz nearby? Which model of Marantz?
If the Marantz has HEOS and is not near the NAD, you could buy a pair of Miccus Bluetooth devices so you could use one as a transmitter and the other as a receiver. You would buy two of the same device, but set them up for the intended function by pressing the TX/RX switch appropriately. The range is amazing and the sound quality is much better than I would have expected, given my previous experience with BT receivers prior to using the Miccus. I never thought BT would be useful in the work I do until I looked into the updated performance about 1-1/2 years ago- they state the range is 160' and I had serious doubts before I received the first one and when I tested it, I walked across the street while I streamed music from my iPhone to my garage system. It never dropped out and when I walked back to check the distance, I found that I was about 60 yards away.
Two of these will allow you to take the output from the source and send it to the NAD and it hits the $100 mark-
