I just got a BSR 14/14xr 14 band equalizer from a pawn shop and love it. There's a channel button where you can activate the left or right channel by themselves or play both. On the display there is a light for each channel marked "L" and "R" that light up when each channel is activated. To the right of that, there is a light that says "A = B" that stays on all the time. My question is, does the "L = R" light mean that the equalizer is operating in mono? And if it is, how can i switch back and forth from mono to stereo? I've tried everything to get that light to change, but none of the buttons on the front do anything. I don't have the remote or user manual for it.

I don't think that device can be set to mono. There is I think one display and you have to select the channel. and set the EQ for each channel individually. I think A=B means both channels are set the same. That unit is also a dubbing device and it might refer to the dubbing EQ also. You have the option of setting the EQ to the input or output.

BSR 1414SR Switching Between L & R Channels

WookieMonster:

The equalizer has two channels and will only display the L=R display means that the left and right channels are set the same. If you push the channel button it will sequence from "L" to "R" and then to both (L & R). If you push the button once and it displays "L" you are now adjusting the EQ on the Left channel only, and the "L=R" display disappears. Likewise you can adjust the right channel only by sequencing to the "R" display and setting the EQ. If both the L and R are lit up, you will adjust both channels equally and get the "L=R" display.

I am using the BSR 1414SR equalizer for feedback control in a portable sound reinforcement application (poor man's Acousta-Voicing) and am using the left channel for the stage monitor system and the right channel for the house system. I therefore have to set the channels independently (different EQ).

Hope this helps.
