That survey seems to be written without a desire for actual input, but merely a confirmation of a preconceived direction.
We've reviewed and previewed several systems. Many of them have the same flaws.
Some offer amplication that is not bypassable and is dramatically underpowered and designed for HTiB (10 watt) speakers.
Some are line-level and allow the use of external amps but do not separate right and left channels
Some operate on 2.4GHz and are thus affected by or affect wireless networks, phones, etc.
Some combine the above problems together.
So far ALL amplified models have cheap spring clip type connectors.
The ultimate wireless solutions would:
a) present a simple box with two-prong power cord that could plug directly into an AV receiver
b) broadcast in something other than 2.4GHz
c) be rock solid in its transmission
d) have incredibly low latency/delay
e) have TWO receivers, one for each speaker
f) have OPTIONAL amplifier modules that provide REAL amplification of at least 50 wpc
g) as per (f), the receivers could simply receive signal and use external amplifiers via RCA connections
h) cost less than $250 without amplifiers, less than $400 with amplifiers
No one has done this yet to my knowledge, at least not in a nice package.
