Dear All,
After 4 years of no problems, my HK AVR110 is no longer producing any sound. The receiver is indicating that it is not receiving a digital connection, referenced by the flashing L and R speakers on the unit interface. The copper wiring does not appear to show any signs of a short - I have tried both my coax and optical cords to no success - tried the cd player, dvd player and ps2 - also, the headphones produce no sound either. I have tried a system reset, turning the unit off for a day, etc.
I guess I'm pretty satisfied at this point something is wrong with the receiver - I don't know much about how shorts affect the attached components - basically, is there any signs of shorting that I could detect on the outside of unit? Is there any sort of self-trouble shooting that I could do that I haven't already done? At this point, I've satisfied myself in my own testing, and next steps are to drop off the unit at an a/v store for an estimate. That being said, I will probably buy a new unit should the repairs be above 150 or so dollars, given the unit is old.
Just wondering if anyone else has run into this problem, and if so, if there was any fix that didn't involve needing tech support from an outside vendor.
Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.
Billy
