My first thought, after seeing the photo yesterday, was "Holy crap, is she skinny!" She seems to have lost a lot of weight in a short time, although I haven't watched her movies and don't know for sure, but if her recent photos are compared, it's possible that her weight loss is related, either in the stress on her body or how she lost it.

Come to think of it, she was very skinny in Sin City. Very good observation though. However, she was still so darn good looking. This is so tragic!

Pure speculation but with rapid weight loss and cardiac arrest at a very young age one could assume a eating disorder and/or drug related problems. If its drugs I would would bet it is some form of opiate. An autopsy report will give closure to this speculation. It is not out of the realm of possibilites of just dropping dead of a heart attack. I have seen a few athletes on the news having heart attacks at very young ages- not related to drugs.

I agree with your point,but she has had a major addiction to prescription drugs
she has been in and out of rehab for this addiction add that to rapid weight loss the heart can only take so much of the abuse. Once an addict always an addict regardless if she is using or not. Here's some of the drugs found in her home... in her name... which appear to be seperate from other drugs in her husband's, mother's, and unknown 3rd party names.

The amount and kind of prescriptions found in Brittany's home have been revealed including Topamax for migraines and seizures, the anti-inflammatory Metylprednisolone, Fluoxetine for depression, Klonopin for anxiety, Carbamazepine for Diabetes and bipolar disorder, Ativan for anxiety, Vicoprofen for pain, Propranolol for hypertension and heart attack prevention, Biaxin an antibiotic, Hydrocodone for pain and various vitamins.

All I can say is wow. Who does this to themselves and what doctor's allow this to happen?

Why can't she just be dead, and that's it. What is the fascination with people to make assumptions about someones passing? Are peoples life affected one way, or the another how, or why a celebrity dies? It's like society can't wait, they thrive to hear bad things.

While I agree with the general trend in comments here, let's wait until the autopsy results are announced. As far as I know, TMZ does not have a toxicology lab.

So far, this poor young woman had

• weight loss
• type 2 diabetes
• flu-like symptoms
• a long list of potentially dangerous prescription drugs

The weight loss was noticeable but perhaps not unusual for Hollywood. We will have to wait to see if it was caused by drug abuse, anorexia, or other underlying medical causes.

The flu-like symptoms plus diabetes have been previously associated with high death rates in (usually obese) young people infected with H1N1 influenza.

Several of those drugs, taken by an underweight or weakened diabetic while ill with the flu could potentially cause life threatening problems, even though the amount of drugs in her system might not have been trouble in a healthier person. Toxicology results will take a while before we know any answers.

She can go to multiple doctors. Generally a general practitioner wouldn't prescribe such a hodgepodge of drugs, but rather a collection of specialists. She probably went to a doctor for migranes, a physciatrist for the anxiety and depression, and maybe had the pain medication from previous injuries.

When people start taking a few drugs, they generally end up with a boat-load because ...for example, Fluoxetine can cause 'headaches'.... so if she didn't recognize that then she might go to a specialist for migranes and then get prescribed the Topamax. The insurance companies might limit it, but the pharmacies certainly won't ($$$) and you can pay cash if your insurance doesn't pay.

The head drugs can have a lot of funny side effects, and a lot of people don't recognize that they are side effects of the drug and then go to get treated for the side effects instead of discontinuing or trying another drug. The head drugs also take a long time to build up in your body, so if the problems don't arise until a few weeks later after you start taking them, then you don't correlate the symptoms as a side effect. And, doctors don't seem to be very aware of drug side effects.

Her selection of drugs isn't actually that amazing... The Ativan and Klonopin are the red flag.... benzos are bad news bears.

For one thing, if I had seen that drug list and was taking some of the same ones, I would be asking my doctor how safe they are and if I could take something else. People have a morbid curiosity and in all likelihood, always have had this. There's a reason for the saying "Like watching an accident and not being able to take my eyes off if it".

I'm of several minds about this.

thanks to a heart condition, I'm taking a veritable drug cocktail every day but they are ALL prescribed by two doctors: my cardiologist and general practitioner and they are in constant communication with each other. IOW, they are on the lookout for possible known interactions.

If something happens to me under their co-ordinated care, my wife and her lawyers knows who to look at and, even then, ther may be unseen interactions.

Now, if I went to several different doctors who have no idea what the other doctors are prescribing simply to get multiple prescriptions and something happens to me, nobody can really blame any one of them.

The only one that could be held accountable then would be me.

Then again, sometime this stuff just happens due to natural causes. I hope this is the case here.
