I spent the last 20 minutes reading over different articles and reading the most recent articles before the tragic announcement. She had lost a lot of weight within the last few months and was reportedly fired from the set of a film for "being difficult". Her 2 year husband recently had a heart problem while on a flight but was resuscitated.

My astute research points toward drug use, possible from both Brittany and her husband as well. It would explain cardiac arrest in both her and the husband as well as weight loss and "being difficult".

It is quite sad though, she was very pretty and she seemed like she was full of life. It's always surprising to see young vibrant people pass so violently.:(

My thoughts and prayers go out to her close friends and family. Right here at Christmas time does not help matters any. We will learn more about what really happened sooner or later. I really liked Brittney in Sin City. She was really great and looked fantastic at that time. RIP!

Cheers,

Phil

The only movie I remember her in is Spun. Didn't she do a lot of "girly" type movies?

 Heroin? Heroin is a sensitive drug. 1:5 ratio of effective dose to death, one of the worst of the drugs. Also people get a bit of a tolerance for it, and then if they quit and then have a replapse a lot of times they overdose. Most the heroin deaths I have known of were where someone got clean, and then went back to the same dose they did when they were using a lot, and it kills them.

I have /no idea/ if this is what happened to this girl, but, if you say you heard it was drugs I'd put a couple bucks down that is the exact story.

What's more tagic then her death, is the way that too many people of such fortunate lives live them. It is sad. I would never ever say "oh well.. .that what you get" but is it really shocking that people and not just the hollywood set, but athletes and others, engage in rampant drug use and other behaviors that are contrary to a living a long life... actually die?

It's a waste... just a total waste. The list is long and distinguished. Think of the great artists who's music we would never hear again...Elvis, Hendricks, Kurt Kobain, Layne Staley and on and on and on.

It's not a shame in my mind... just a waste. A sad and unbelievable heartbreak for those who lover her.

One article I read said that it was "natural causes". How could a heart attack at 32 be natural causes? I didn't think she was a great actress, but I did like the movies that I saw her in. She was pretty, quirky and funny. Sorry to see her go.

It's possible. I had a friend have heart failure right after (only a few weeks) we graduated high school. His heart stopped and he was dead long before the paramedics got there. No warning signs, no drug use, no significant family history... nothing. Sometimes you just get a bad heart. :(

So, it is likely her lifestyle caused it, but it is also possible that it was natural causes.

The same is true for all the not so famous in similar circumstances.
The whole thing is bumming me out. :(
Absolutely true. It seems more and more that society has gone this selfish route of doing whatever makes them happy regardless of consequences... because typically, it's always someone else's fault when things go awry.

There's sort of a natural balance in this world I believe and I don't believe that you can live outside that balance without it swinging the other way at some point. I mean you can visit the fringe, but you can't stake claim to it without an equal and opposite consequence. I guess for some people that makes life boring or uncool, but I'd like to think that living or at least trying to make a genuine effort at living, a good life has some benefits.

This whole thing just gets me down.

We've lost a couple of local teens to natural heart failure. One was the captain of our local Junior A hockey team.

We are a group of people that spends many thousands on home audio-video in a world where people starve to death; and perhaps, before we cast blanket generalizations that other groups are selfish in their behavior: we should take stock of our own.

I'm not condemning selfish behavior (like buying toys), nor condoning self-destruction (like drugging yourself to death); but if there's something society has, in my opinion, done: it's remain very good at objectifying "them" with some simplistic generalization while simultaneously failing to find fault in itself.

It's always sad when someone so young dies.

This wouldn't have anything to do with the "If it feels good, do it" attitude of the '60s and '70s, would it?
