I'm planning to buy a set of Sony speakers to match with a vsx-919ah-k pioneer receiver but i'm worried about the brightness of them.

The Speakers are:

2 x SONY ss-f6000 + 2 x SONY ss-b1000 + SONY ss-cn5000

What do you think? Are these speakers too warm?

Thanks,

Juan

Seriously, I have no life.
You're the one who needs to like them and if you haven't listened to them, I would be careful about buying them. Everyone hears things a bit differently because of what sounds and noises they have been subjected to, so that will cause you to hear highs better or worse than someone else.

Back in the days before Sony and most other Japanese electronics manufacturers realized that their speakers were seen as being all "Boom/Crash", instead of actually great sounding, they put out some pretty bad sounding stuff. The electronics were fine but the speakers were generally not much to get excited about. I have seen some Sony speakers with Peerless or Vifa drivers, and if the ones you're considering use these, or something similar, they should sound pretty good.

I don't want to be too critical here b/c I haven't heard these speakers myself, but I don't get too excited about Sony speakers. The ss-f6000 is a tower speaker that can be had for about $139. I've never been excited about a tower in that price range. Again, I haven't heard them, but the quality doesn't appear to be that great at first glance.

If you're questioning whether they are too bright, then they are likely not the right speaker for you. Keep auditioning.

Personally, I've never heard anything from Sony that I've liked.

What's your budget?

You might take a gander at the Behringer 2031p's
