Bridging an amp to use just for a subwoofer

I have a new Onkyo amp and I am using my old RCA speakers with it.... and I have an awesome subwoofer that i used with my RCA receiver, but the RCA receiver had a powered sub channel... the Onkyo is a sub pre-out... so, I am using my old RCA receiver only to power the subwoofer...

So my question.... is there anyway to bridge the channels together and get all 630 watts from the receiver to go to the subwoofer? (yes it is a 800 watt subwoofer so it can handle it)

Please tell us a little more about the amp and subwoofer. Model numbers would be nice.

My only concern would be what is the impedance of the subwoofer. You rpobably wouldn't want to drive a 4 ohm subwoofer driver with a bridged amp that may not be able to handle it.

Not without blowing it. But I'm pretty sure you will get what it can deliver through a single channel without bridging. I won't tell you how to bridge because I think there is a good chance of you getting hurt. If you want to really drive your sub I suggest you get a real amp. Crown currently has a great sale on the XLS series.

I have a PA reference amp that I could probably use... since i am using my PA speakers as the front left and right straight out of the Onkyo, which is working great by the way and sounds wonderful. I will try that tonight and see what it sounds like
