Brett Favre - the Viking?

Well, if you’re not a fan of The Vikings, The Packers (or The Jets) you may not be following this drama, but The Vikings are flirting with the idea of dragging Green Bay golden boy Brett Favre out of retirement (again), and he’s flirting right back. The very idea is…well, it’s the new first sign of the coming apocalypse. I can’t even begin to imagine the reactions of the fans on both sides of this celebrated boarder battle :confused:

“There’s absolutely no truth to
the rumor that I will be playing for
the Vikings next season”.

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing him on his back several times in the two upcoming games the Packers would play against him this season.

Favre is done.
The only people who don't seem to realize that are Favre and the Vikings.
And I think the Vikings may be coming around to the idea.

Sorry Brett, the game of football is still bigger than any one player.
Yes even you, just go away.

(sorry to sound bitter, but i've put up with his "i'm done.....no wait maybe not" attitude for too many years)

The man has been at the top of the game. He has the awards, rings & accolades that many strive for but never obtain. Everyone has high expectations for him, but I don’t think he can deliver.

Just stay retired Brett - the Vikings will suck just fine without you.

The never ending story continues. Great athletes have such a difficult time letting it go.

A healthy Brett Farve is better than any of the quarterbacks they have on their roster right now. Now the big question is his arm healthy and can he last 16 games.

Two big positives for Farve and the Vikings is they have a good offensive line and the best running back in the league. A quarterbacks best friend and would be the keys to this working. I believe this would be a better fit than with the Jets last year.

The man has lost all the respect that I had for him. He is a joke now.

The team has talent - what they lack is good coaching ;)

Yeah. Lets not forget they have a talent at the wr position in Berrian and possibly the best wr to come out of the draft in Purcey Harvin.

The Vikings coach reminds me of a mix of my two favorite coaches Norv Turner and **** Jouron   .

The defense is not to shaby either.

I think all drama aside He has definitely earned the right to play or should I say try to play again. He surely will always second guess his decision to retire and want to continue on after all its what he knows its all he knows and he's pretty damn good at it. If there will be a team willing to throw money at him He will give it his all, now granted some will laugh at the teams decision but Brett also is taking a big chance at being totally humiliated by not being able to perform which then means he go's out at the bottom of his game, but he will still be a winner in my book because he has played tremendous football all along and certainly entertained me and my football oriented friends, if he comes back all I can say is Best of Luck to you Brett.

I hope that he comes back, has a great year, then finally retires for good. Maybe come back as a QB coach for some team that needs one. He'd be great at that and would still be part of the game that way.

The only problem is that great players often don't make great coaches. Most of the best coaches were never great players in their day. (Across all sports.)

I agree that great player does not equal great coach, but I think Brett has what it takes.

Brett Farve as a quarterback coach mentoring a young quarterback would do an awesome job IMO. As a head coach I dunno  .

The Vikings should get Vick. Peterson and Vick in the backfield would be beautiful to watch.

The last I heard of vick is that he was under house arrest? Is he even available to play this year?

The wildcat offense would very exciting to watch and would have its great moments especially with talent like Vick and Peterson but I believe it is system that will never win a championship in the NFL. It will eventually get shut down with NFL caliber defenses.

If Favre does end up as the starting QB for the Viqueens, it's going to be weird hearing him get booed at Lambeau.

What that man did is reprehensible. He should NEVER be allowed to be in the public eye again. Frankly, if I never heard his name again, I’d be happy.
