Well, it is time to call Samsung and hopefully they can resolve it. Is it possible to rent the same BD disc and see if the rental will play? It sure looks like a disc that went bad.
I will rent a Bluray(same movie) from Redbox and see...... odd that the one I have did work? Can a reel to reel hand de-mag to bulk erase recording tape have a effect on a Bluray disc? This is the only thing I have done other then play them. I was 15 to20 feet from my Blurays when I erased a tape. I tried all the others and they all play but this ONE.

What could make a disc quit working? Like I said it is clean, flatt and looks Mint.

I can think of no reason that any magnet should have any effect on a bluray disk. Have you compared the colour of the disk to a known working one [still grasping at straws here...]

WOW, that is a powerful demag you have, erased the BD from 15ft-20ft?

Just kidding, pulling your chain.:D No, magnets do not affect any of these mediums, CD, DVD/BD, etc.

I have no idea why it is not playing especially since you tried 3 players now.
Another experiment is to take it to a Blockbuster if you have one near you and see if they would also try to play it, or, at an audio store if there is one near you.

The Blockbuster near us closed. I am going to call Samsung tomorrow and give them the firmware # I am running now and see if they have a newer one...or try one of the older one's as one of them was in my player when this movie DID work last year............ oh well just one movie it's not like I will go broke :D but I have never had this happen before. I have some CD my grown Daughters swiped from me that look so bad I was SHOCKED when they played 30 years later.. This movie is haunted.:D

Well, I think you may have supplied a bit of new information. The movie played when you had an older firm ware then when you updated, it would not. So, it looks like the new firmware deleted something in the old firmware that allowed you to watch it, so it would seem to me.

When you call Samsung, make sure you tell them this as I think it is relevant.
They may need another update to fix it.
Does your friend have a different brand of player that also didn't work in?

One reason why I am disappointed in BD, almost each new disc needs a new firmware:rolleyes:

Friend has 5 year old Panasonic that has one update done to it years ago.
My 1st generation Sony has one one update 6 years ago. This is just one Bluray DVD in a collection for sevral hundred that won't play. I did have to add a memory stick (USB 8GB Flashdrive) it(Samsung) has a front port. I checked it to make sure it was OK as some newer Bluray asked for more memory to play as so far all the new just released are working just fine as is all my older Blurays...Grand Son Nemo and CARS have been hammered and are older and play..

Me TOO. Oh well it's just One movie. I have one more friend that has a Oppo 93 Bluray/CD player
Will see if it plays on it. And when I get it back I will look at the color of the playing side of the disc and rent the same Bluray and look.
