Exactly, nothing competes with Emotiva for price/performance. Only the buyer can determine his priorities.
If you need something smaller, you are gonna pay for it. However, in that case, the Outlaw monoblocks offer:
1) The "next least expensive" alternative I have seen (regardless of size) in a good quality amplifier.
2) A very compact form factor.
The fact that they cost so much more than Emotiva highlights what a great bargain Emotiva's amps are!
