it was a open box at future shop, got it at a great price 120 bucks with a extended warranty. anyways i got it cheap cuz there was no manual at all.

QUESTION 1:
i was connecting it and on the back of the sub where i would just simply connect my sub cable to the sub were 2 RCA sub inputs (L-R), my other sub just simply has 1 input. i plugged it into the left and its working but is that right? should i get a different type of cable for better performance, cuz why are there 2 inputs?

QUESTION 2:
there is a crossover frequency knob which i am not sure what it is for. it read from 50---to---150, where should i set it if i want the sub to be louder?

QUESTION 3:
there is also a switch saying "phase", either i can select 0 or 80. again if i want the loudest bang which 1 should i select?

thanks

Hi. You can download the manual directly from the JBL support site at this link here (it's a PDF file).

That will probably answer most of your questions, but here's a brief summary.

Q1: That's shown very well in the manual. You can use either the left or right input.
Q2: Set the "LFE/Normal" switch to LFE. This will bypass the crossover frequency, which is exactly what you want to do if you are using the receiver to do bass management. Let us know if you aren't doing that.
Q3: The phase affects the timing of the bass frequencies relative to the other frequencies from your other speakers. Start with the setting at "0" and then adjust it to check out the effects. There is no default setting that people can tell you because it is affected by your room and set up.

Yep, that's exactly how you'd do it. It should work just fine.

2nd calibrate the sub with your speakers. You can do it by ear or with an SPL meter.

3rd try the thing out with movies and games.

I found a roll of fiberglass at home depot for 10 bucks. If you wrapped a couple of those in Burlap and put them in the corners' I bet you'd get nice sound.
