I have a pair of B.A. Cr9 and CR 55 to go with my Onkyo TX-DS595. I want to upgrade my receiver to a Denon 2805 or 3805, or maybe a Yamaha 2500. Unless there is something that I am missing. How do these speakers match up with the competition. I have a small listening room, 15 x 12.

Thanks, Bill

If you like the sound of your Bostons with the Onkyo, you'll still like them with either of the Denons or the Yamaha. The 3805 will let you bi-amp the CR9s, if they support it (IIRC, driving 5 channels that ought to be about right).

Bryan...A friend had an old Denon deck and some BA bookcase speakers-they sounded great...

The Bostons compare well with the competition but it's ultimately up to your ears and what you like. I have a 6.1 Boston set up and I run them on a Yamaha RX-V1400. I really like the sound I get but I am not sure a Denon, Onkyo, Marantz, H/K, etc. would sound any better or worse. You will be happy with any of the receivers you mentioned. They are all very good. If your looking at the Denon 2805, you might include the Yamaha RX-V1500 as well.
