Well I was just about to pull the trigger and purchase the infinity p362's. Then I consulted the other half. :( I have officially been hit by the WAF. Since this is really our living room and not a dedicated media room she would like to keep the setup as unobtrusive as possible. The wall mount speakers that would mount on either side and under the TV now how some appeal.

The one that I found that seemed pretty slick was the Boston Acoustics P400. It would mount under the TV and look pretty nice. I searched around here to try to find some review on the speaker, but I have not found any yet. Does anyone know anything about this speaker?

Can anyone suggest some other speakers that might accomplish my goals? Thanks in advance.

It's a cool concept, unfortunately the sound dispersment won't be as good as actual separate speakers. Consult your wife again.:D

Well what about the Mythos that hang on the wall or another speak suggestion that would keep the clutter to a minimum?

I haven't heard these Energy FPS flat panel speaker but I think it's a better concept than a sound bar. Three of these as left right and center plus a good subwoofer should rock for movies. They will need sub - a beefy sub for that size room. You can "hide" a large subwoofer by using for a sofa end table. I don't think flat panels are going to play music quite as well towers or even decent bookshelves but they should blow the doors off a sound bar. A WAF good compromise. Note: These have been discontinued so if you buy them you'll need all 3 while you can get them. Maybe you can finagle a larger budget to accommodate her requirements?

The second option is bookshelf speakers on good locking stands. That won't be quite as in your face as towers and should be fine.

The third option is stand mounting the TV (instead of wall mounting) a foot from the wall and then towers might not look out of place.

The final option is trading her a diamond tennis bracelet for the speakers of your choice. ;)

I took the cowards way out and stayed single. :D

I think these have covers to pretty them up - see below.

I have to admit she is probably right to want to keep the room simple since it is the family room. I was already kind of weary on the BC P400, but it looked pretty nice. I am glad I got you guys opionion before pulling the trigger.

I like these Energy FPS look, and the price compared to those Mythos is alot better. However, am I sacrificing sound quality between the Mytho and the Energy in you guys opinion?

Also does anyone know where I might be able to hear these suckers around the Houston, TX area? I found out recently the hard way alot of speaker manufactures are selling direct (Harmon Kardon), and I could not find anyone in town that carried the Infinity brand. Crazy.

Thanks so much guys you are a great help.
