Bose systems don't play nicely with receivers.
To be recognized, a subwoofer must be connected to the receivers subwoofer/LFE output, and possib;y the receiver needs to be told it's there.
And, unless said subwoofer connected to the receivers subwoofer/LFE output has a built in power amplifier, it won't recognize it.
That bose setup isn't a subwoofer. It's a common "bass box" whose main function is to prevent any lows from going to those tiny satellites. It won't work when connected to a LFE output. My $$ is on it being connected to the receiver's speaker outputs.
