Bose Acoustimass 10 Series 1 Wiring Help

I have an old Bose Acoustimass 10 Series 1 system where the cube speakers are connected to the acoustimass module with RCA plugs instead of standard speaker wire. I am moving into a new house that is pre-wired for surround sound. My question is, can I safely cut the RCA plugs off of the Bose speaker wire and connect them to 1.) the wires that are coming out of the wall... and then on the other end, connect the other RCA plug to wires that I will be running from the wall plate to the Acoustimass module? OR... is there an adapter that I can purchase to avoid having to splice the wires? Are there any options that I have other than ponying up for a new system? :)

Go ahead and splice the wires - that's the best solution. Later, you can upgrade the system to something with a dedicated tweeter and powered subwoofer, but for now that will at least get you some surround sound.

I know it is more trouble, but I would rather see you create "adapters" rather than destroy the standard connectors, that way when you sell it, it will be as it was when you bought it, retaining your resale value completely. OR, sell them now and look for some better speakers :)

Only problem with that J_garcia is that Cetbal 1 will end up with (guessing) 20 feet of speaker cable coiled up by the speakers.
