Without auditioning in your own HT room/acoustic environment, you can't do much but compare the specs. I'm sure you already know that one speaker may sound great with a lot of people in their own room, but may not sound good at all in your room.

So just looking at the specs, I vote for the PSB b25 monitors.:)

thanks. i know its a disadvantage not being able to audition for myself so i must rely somewhat on specs but also on the views of philes as urself.
I actually have a pair of psb image T55's up front, image c60 center and a pair of energy c-R3 surrounds with a pair of svs 20-39cs plus subs completing my 7.1 system. the c-R3's are awesome surrounds but i added the nht's to my choice because of the reviews they are getting.
Thanks again

but my opnion is biased as I have a complete system based on the Image series. Even if I didn't own them, I've heard the B25s and thats one very fine sounding speaker for the money. Good solid bass extension, smooth midrange and silky treble.

Are you not happy with PSB that you are considering other options?

oh don't get me wrong bro. i am very happy with them. the only reason i did not get the complete setup at once is because i could not afford it. but i also know that ur rear speakers do not necessarily have to match the fronts so i was looking at options. I still listen to music more than i watch movies.

multichannel music, I would definately stick with PSB for timbre matchig across all your speakers. If your music is 2 channel, then your surround options are much bigger as timbre matching isn't as critical.

I understand "not willing to expend the time, money, and/or effort to audition", but not able to audition? How can you not be able to audition (especially speakers available online)?

You wouldn't have to travel if you ordered speakers online, tried them at home, and sent them back if you didn't like them.

A very good option. SVS, av123, Orb, Axiom, and Ascend all sell online with friendly return policies. Otherwise, I think I'd go PSB Image as well.

Wessyb.. Its good ot keep your options open

but in your case, I think you've narrowed it down to PSB. Your happy with PSB already and know what their strengths and weaknesses (if they have any :D ) are. If you are seriously considering multichannel music, you want your surrounds to match the rest of your speakers. Why introduce another sound?
