Bookshelf Speakers for Center Channel

Is there too much of a difference between using a bookshelf speaker and a designated center speaker for the center channel? I would like to stay with Klipsch speakers if possible. I heard that Klipsch was one of the only companies that the center speakers are different than their bookshelves. I would be using an RB-25 for the center if I were to go that route. Are there any drawbacks or advantages of using a bookshelf speaker as the center channel? If so, what are they? Thanks!

More times than not, a center channel has dual drivers and a single tweeter. The dual drivers help with the voice aspect over a single driver in a typical bookshelf. The center channel is more than likely the most important speaker in a surround sound setup. I would recommend a dedicated, matched center channel over a bookshelf if you are serious about surround sound. Did you mean the RC-25?

I would be using an RC-25 or an RB-25. I can get a much better price for the single RB-25, though.

My mains are Paradigm Studio 20s and my center is also a Studio 20. I couldn't be more pleased with sound integration. I started out with the appropriate Studio center (don't remember the model number) and felt it did not mate with the 20s they way it should, not to mention the fact it was freaking hugh making placement problematic. I returned the center and had the dealer order me a single 20. I works great, much better to my ears than the purpose built Paradigm center.

This is crazy. I just started the same thread over on AVS and was about to start one here. I was thinking of using the Energy C3 bookshelf instead of the dedicated C-C3 (because I can't find one and its expensive). Any other opinions?!
