You don't have to get too crazy for near field but then again.....why not. There's a host of <$200 monitors available on Audiogon. I had a pair(s) of Mission MS50 and KEF C15 for a very long time in my computer rig.

Heh, the more I read, the more I doubt my decision. Well, I have finally come up with a definitive(kinda) answer; the PSB B15 or B25. Now, before I make the final decision, I have one more question:

Are the B25's to big for near field listening? I have been told that the B15's might provide better imaging and since I plan on pairing them with a sub, I won't be missing any of the low end.

If small size is as much a priority as fantastic sound, and since you will have a sub, pick up a pair of Cambridge Audio S30s. These are regular $260/pr, but often on sale as low as $220. (check Wild West Audio.) They are only 9" X 9" X 6".

Size isn't a problem for me, I just re-wrote what the person said incorrectly. :p Here is, word for word, what he said:

In situation like this more might be less, 6.5" woofers are a bit too big in my opinion given you 1m nearfield application. something smaller like the similar PSB B15 will likely image better and since you are using a sub you won't be missing anything in the low end.
I'm just curious of others opinions on this matter. And, regarding you suggestion of the S30's, I did consider them but I am thinking front-ported speakers might work better for my situation as the wall behind them will be close. I read that this might lead to boomy bass and possible rearranging of my room.
