Bluflick.com-Caveat Emptor

I recently completed a purchase with Bluflick.com, a relatively new online vendor of BluRay movies for good prices. Unfortunately, the price was the only good thing about this transaction-my credit card was charged the day the order was placed but the item was not shipped until 8 days later, "expedited" shipping was paid for but Media Mail shipping was actually received (the seller actually claimed in an email that it had been shipped Priority Mail-the package that arrived today was clearly marked Media Mail, which is the slowest and cheapest service offered by USPS). I have already posted similar comments on Google (the seller uses Google Checkout) to warn other potential buyers of this seller's practices. I don't usually post this type of negative feedback for an online transaction, mainly because virtually all of my past experiences have been good to exceptional, but this seller's unethical behavior and outright lies were so egregious that I thought it prudent that other potential buyers be aware of this issue. I guess one gets what they pay for-caveat emptor.

That's the kind of thing that made me stop buying from DDD. Their deals were good, but sometimes I had to wait a LONG time to get my discs. I always got my stuff though.

I don't really buy movies but want to thank you for my vocabulary word of the day: egregious. :)

After reading their "about us" page, I chose to not spend money there.

If I had to get a movie RIGHT NOW, I would just pick one up locally or get it from amazon.com.

But if I were not in a hurry (7-10 days), I don't mind if it will save me > $30.

I got my Alien Anthology BD set from them just fine. I was not in a hurry, and I got it like in 7 or 8 days. But I saved $31.

But definitely don't buy from them if you need it THIS WEEK.:D

Ditto that... It took forever for me to get my copy of Terminator Salvation from them... I got my replacement copy before I got my original copy from them. But at least I got it.

It wasn't the delay that bothered me the most (which is not unusual for this time of year), it was the outright lie about the shipping method they used and charged me for. The Bluflick person confirmed in 3 separate emails that Priority Mail was used (I asked explicitly which service was used), but it's hard to reconcile that with the Media Mail label that came on the package itself.

I will never buy from WHV (Warner) in my life again. Horrible CS.

When I ranted about them years ago or whenever, I was told that they were actually nailed by BBB at some point, or something like that, but supposedly had bettered their ways. I don't even want to know what they were like before.

The above all said, I like Amazon. They don't always have the very best price, but when I don't pay shipping, don't pay tax, have it in my hand in two days, a preorder price guarantee to boot, well, I've learned to stick with them. Then the fact that I can complain about anything, "My bluray disc looked at me funny", it's no problem, print out the FREE (prepaid) return label, that's it.

I like Amazon.
I rank Amazon #1 period!

There is absolutely no contest here IMO.

All my relatives know that I buy from amazon like 95% of the time.:D

But saving $31 was just too tempting.:D

I would have demanded a refund for the Express Shipping charge! And if they did not give it to me, I would have disputed it with my credit card company. It is pure principle.

I did get a refund for the difference, so I am thankfully closing this chapter of my internet shopping experience (and the final chapter with Bluflick).
