I'm looking for a replacement receiver that has bluetooth output for my earbuds. I only need sound from the tv so maybe I don't need a receiver, just an amplifier???? I'd appreciate a recommendation.
I have a Bose Accoustimass 6 series III. It has 5 speakers and a subwoofer.
It came with a Yamaha RX-V379 which is what I want to replace.
I have both HDMI and optical from my tv (Sony Bravia KDL52V4100)
Primarily I want to have Bluetooth out to my T15 wireless earbuds and I'd like to keep my 5 speakers and subwoffer.
It's so confusing I'd appreciate some help and like I said, maybe just an amplifier would work but I don't know much about these type of electronics.
Thanks,

Why not just get a bluetooth transmitter to attach to your current gear? Can't think of any avrs that have a built in bluetooth transmitter, usually just a receiver....

If you like and want to stick with a Yamaha unit, the TSR-700 and it’s twin the RX-V6A can accomplish what you are trying to do with bluetooth headphones.

Maybe something like this:
https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/friencity-long-range-bluetooth-5-0-transmitter-receiver-for-tv-3-in-1-wireless-bluetooth-audio-adapter-for-pc-home/14526701
Bear in mind, most of these devices do not control volume levels. Most brands (typically the dongle style) tell you that the bluetooth speakers or headphones need to have volume control built in. This unit does have volume controls on the unit, but no remote control. Might be some better options out there, but this gives you an idea if you just want wireless from the TV.

I absolutley don't care about the manufacturer. The Yamaha I have does not have audio out connections - that's the problem. I tried a BT output device on my tv but it wouldn't work - just got a hum.

Yes, your avr is very limited on connectivity.....but you do have a headphone out you could utilize....

The same issue with that Friencity - the only output on the Yamaha is an hdmi which is meant to go to a tv.
What worries me is that all these reeivers that say "bluetooth" mean a cell phone and for some reasom may not apply to earbuds.
Also do I really need a fancy receiver? Will just an "amplifier" work?

The biggest difference is that most avrs only incorporate a bluetooth receiver, not a transmitter. Trep pointed out an avr that does have both, tho. Bluetooth doesn't depend on type of device, just that its compatible (i.e. not just both units being receiver only). As far as only hdmi out that's due drm issues, why you won't see analog outs on newest gear. As to an avr vs "amplifier" depends if you're talking power amp or integrated amp and what other gear you may have.....avrs can be excellent values, particularly for digital compatibility compared to simple power amps or even many of the 2ch integrated amps (a receiver is just an integrated amp with a source like radio or internet built in).

You mention getting sound from the TV. Do you have devices connected directly to it? The receivers I mentioned will do the trick if you are looking to replace the receiver anyway. Otherwise, adapters of some kind will be necessary as the TV and receiver you are currently using have their own specific limitations.

I don't have to replace the receiver. I tried to get BT from the tv.with a Carpuride transmitter but it didn't work. I believe the only audio output from the tv is r/w minijacks. Maybe trying to get the tv to go to the buds would be best. I'll try to look at that again.
