... Obviously, there is a difference between that crowd and the stereophile crowd-Fremer, Serrius, etc. BUT, this is a speaker test that everyone agrees are different so it is really a preference test.

Have you read any of the papers by Toole on his speaker testing under DBT? Specifically the one where he has 4 speakers compared and graded by score cards, sighted and DBT. Under DBT, it seems that two are statistically close enough with his representation in the graph with a t hat above the graph that would indicate the margins, to be the same, overlapping. But then, my interpretation could be wrong on his graph.
