Blade Runner 5 disc HD set

Just got my Ultimate collectors pack (SD version) the movie looked and sounded great (for the most part). There seems to be certain scenes were the sound is wonky (first time Rachel visits Dekker's apt), there is a constant hiss/white noise from the surround speakers. This doesn't occur with other movies and only shows up during some scenes in BR. Over all it was a must have for me, and the collectors stuff was bonus.

I just watched the Final Cut tonight (SD). I thought that it wasn't hugely different from the director's cut. The few things I noticed were pretty subtle.

I have mixed feelings about this movie. On the one hand, I love smart sci-fi and dystopian sci-fi. On the other, the movie was far from perfect. The dove thing at the end was forced and seems cheesy. Also, I wouldn't consider Blade Runner an adaptation of the PKD novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. It's more a sci-fi movie inspired by the novel. Too much got changed that it barely resembles the original story. Plus, what's up with the title? Blade Runner, what does that even mean? It sounds like something a marketing guy thought up. </rant>

No kidding!

I would like just the FINAL CUT Blu-Ray on one disc for $20?

I will buy Blade Runner 5-dsic set on BD, but it's only because we don't have a chocie if we want to buy it.

But I will watch just ONE disc: The FINAL CUT.
The other 4 discs will never be touched.

Finally got around to watching this one. I thought it looked great, but there were still some scenes, mainly darker ones, that had some very noticeable grain. The sound was good overall. I didn't notice too much different in the final cut either, but I still find it a very well done movie. Not ready to dip into any of the supplemental discs though...and haven't checked to see about the 5th disc not actually containing the "working print" but rather the same as one of the other cuts. The story still intrigues me and there are things that still leave questions. No, it isn't perfect, but it is still one of my favorites.

WOOHOO, to my amazement, WHV has now gotten another shipment here on time.

Blade Runner HD DVD 5 disc set, was at my front door at 10:00am.

Now to get down for some serious movie watching.

If you got this set, and would like to post your opinions, post away.
I'll post back as soon as I see at least 1 of the versions.

Unfortunately, you can't even rent it anymore. Warner is so upset about sales dropping last year they are lashing out at renters. I read that you can no longer rent Blade Runner on high def at Blockbuster online or Netflix.
