Does anyone have these? I am curious how good of speaker they would be for home theatre setup with Pioneer 815.

You should do a search on BIC. You come out with a wealth of information. SOme will be on BIC Venturis (Which include the DV52's) as well as the BIC Acoustech.

I have ordered both DV52si's and DV62si's, and I'll be doing a direct A/B comparison. I'll let you know what I find (I just ordered earlier today, so it may be a few days to week before I receive them)

That would be great. My 815 is on its way and a neighbor has a set of the 52's (2 mains and center) he will sell me for $120.00. He is upgrading to the 62's. Just wondering if it is worth the price and if they are a decent speaker set up. I was thinking I could order a couple more of the 52's for the rear and the 1220 sub and have a pretty decent system for practically nothing. Pending the results of how good the 52's are of course. Although I am trading up from a 60W JVC theater in a box system with 5 speakers rated for 35W/6 ohm apiece. I would have to think almost anything I get would be an improvement...right? As a relative newbie I am still trying to make sure I don't buy more than I need for my listening.

Everything I heard say that the 62 is a very worthwhile upgrade. I plan to get the 64's with the 62's.

Spend the extra and go with the 62's

There's a reason he's upgrading to the 62's. The 62's are outstanding in bass reproduction. You need that 6.5" driver for adequate bass. The tweeter is also larger, and can handle a wider frequency range with more efficiency. I'd hold off on that purchase, and go with the 62's all around with the 62CLRS center as he is most likely doing. You won't be disappointed. The 52's are fine for surround, but won't hold a candle to the 62's IMHO.

Go with the 62 series I have directly compared them. The 52s lack some clarity and bass. The 62's don't. The 52's are ok for surrounds but I don't recomend them for mains.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I am placing an order for the 62's all around and will probably go BIC's 1220 sub as well.

Sorry for the hijack...

What about the 62's versus the 64's? Macman, didn't you do them both? I can't seem to find the review you wrote

I got the WAF approval to get "small" towers in front but wonder if it is worth twice the cost? I saw the 84's too but have concerns about 8 inchers producing nice midrange.

It really is going to depend on your music choice, sub choice, and room size. What type of music/listening will you be doing? Each speaker has a very different character.
