Seriously, I have no life.
It is not generally known that eminent designer Douglas Self also has an MA (Psychology) degree. He once wrote interesting comments on this matter; unfortunately I did not keep copies.

.
Thanks. I didn't know this. :D
Dr Toole used psychoacousticians at NCR.

I passively bi-amp my Def Tech BP7000SCs with two Acurus 200X3 amps.
I would love to think that it makes a world of difference.
However, I truly cannot tell a difference.

But, they do look great, and they are great for impressing those who care:)

I've read about bi-amping and bi-wiring.
Bottom line, bi-wiring is absolutely a waste of money and time.
Bi-amping (passive and active) has merit, but the question is, is it significant?
If we did a A/B comparison, would be able to tell a difference?

I bet most likely you would with a proper active amp for each driver, bi/tri.

Where is Russ I

A power cord making the system grainy is ludicrous. I would suggest reading up on electricity and how copper is copper and how silver is NOT important as relates to a conductor in the audio world. All these wonderful improvements you are your AV club experience are simply placebo effect for everything talked about in this thread. Maybe Gene will chime in I think he might know a little about cables and how much snake oil is involved with them.

Russ_l you should really do some of this reading I suggested I am sure you won't believe it because your ears are probably full of this snake oil, but it might open your eyes a little as there are journal articles out there with real blinded testing that trumps your "ohh, it sounds better."
It appears he may be history? House of cards falling apart?

I just read my post and didn't realize quiet how forward I was being. I must have been angry about something . I think that we probably filled him with cognitive dissonance, more than he had when he bi-wired and heard no difference, so he ran away to keep the illusion alive?

Let's try to be kind and understanding with audiophiles. After all, they enjoy the same things we do. I've never had a problem with confronting my ego but many people do and it can be a crashing disappointment for them to learn their ears have no more gold than anybody else's. Remember, there is an entire industry of manufacturers, dealers and audio journalists caught up in audiophilia that feeds the whole thing.

I quit high end audio in a single day of blind testing and never looked back. I used the proceeds from the sale of my audio gear to buy a shiny new car. It worked out well for me. It isn't so easy for some people. If you haven't fallen prey to audiophilia then you don't understand. But if you have, you will show compassion for those that are not yet cured of it.

Ah yes, time to go listen some good CD's through my Blu-Ray player, Onkyo receiver and home theater speakers driven with zip cord speaker cables. Or perhaps some compressed XM radio through my DirecTV receiver. No critical listening. Just music. Ah!
