Just hooked up all my new integrated amp and cd player to my Klipsch RF82's today.
Ran it normal and then Bi wired the speakers and lost some bass.
The mids and highs sounded more clear but the bass lost some deep tones.
Amp is Marantz PM6004
CD Player is Marantz CD6004

Help...
thoughts....

Did you somehow reverse the phase to one set of speakers, one of the terminals?

Bear in mind that bi-wiring is a useless endeavor. It just increases the chance of you making an error. It should not make you loose bass.

nope. I double check everything. I even made sure all cables we equal
length.. I just put them back to normal. Now it seems fine but my mids sound less clear.. a little muddy if you ask...

If you lost bass there had to be a wiring error somewhere. If it was not reverse phase then somehow one of the bass sections was not making contact. Bi-wiring if done properly has no effect what ever, good or bad.

Perhaps you can tell us exactly how you bi-wired the speakers.

You have made a mistake somewhere. Bi-wiring does nothing for sound. Check your wires again, check the polarity of the wires.

Remember that our ears loose a lot of "memory" after about 3 seconds. So unless you were able to switch back & forth between those 2 different hookups, then the "loss of bass" could be in your mind. Im not saying that is what happened but unless you had the wiring wrong, there is not really much else it could be.

If you have an SPL meter then you could place it on a stand about 12" in front of the drivers of one of the towers. With the master volume unchanged, get the readings with each of the 2 wiring configurations. Check to see if there is any difference in output. Make sure all settings are identical & the meter is not moved.

I have my sleakers bi-wired & it made no difference in sound AT ALL!!! i could have saved myself $ on wire & connects had i known. Haha oh well, live & learn :)

Now, bi-amping, with seperate amps with seperate power supplies can be of benifit but even that is debatable depending on the speakers & power involved.

And if one should follow those hearsays thingy about active biamping using external crossovers blablabla he/she better know what he/she's doing otherwise things can actually get worse.:D

Only in DIY Audio or where a manufacturer designs speakers(active crossovers) for it. It's certainly possible to improve performance with bi-amping and active crossovers, but this requires you understand crossovers and have appropriate measuring equipment. I personally prefer to start from scratch. The RF82's would be low on my list of speakers to modify because they are horns.
