Ok AcuDefTech;

I always assumed you just had some type of DT HTIB but now I see I was wrong. Where are some pictures of your complete set-up?
What?
You thought I had a satellite/subwoofer system?
Well, my previous system was the NHT SuperZeros + SW2P, but not the current.
Not that there is anything wrong with HTiB systems, of course.:)

I almost bought these

Then somehow, somewhere along the way, I ended up with these

But I will have to get some better pictures.

You are absolutely right!
It does say "For Seth Only"

Where are our manners!:)

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I had to come down to reality recently.
How? Well, I did have a nice 20'W x 40'D x 15'H HT room in my previous 4,900 sf home that fit my DefTech BP7000SC perfectly. But due to financial circumstances, we had to move to a down-to-earth 3,000 sf house:(
So now I have to resort to a mere 15' x 16 ' x 14 ' HT room:(

But I promised myself that this is only temporary!

This thread started as a joke and turned into a system thread for you, it should be renamed and placed in the "member's system gallery" area.:)

You're right.
Note to everyone: Please don't ask AcuDefTechGuy for HT pics!:)
Now we just need you to officially close this thread since it's under your name and all:)

Yea; what's up with that? AcuDefTech is always stealing stuff!

He probably stole those Definitive Tech speakers, Accuphase amplifiers, and cables. I bet he is squatting too.:D
Accuphase?
What's that?
That's ACURUS! Which stands for ACURacy in the US.
Goodness. If I'm stealing, I don't want cheap stuff.
Those cables are kind of cheap from Monoprice.
If I were to steal cables, it would be Kimber Kable or some kind of fishnet cables at least.
And those DefTech speakers (BP7000SC) weigh 150 lbs each (53" x 16" x 9"), so yeah, my back was really sore after stealing those babies!:)

Thanks. Although I must say that Bi-amping & Tri-amping is a total wast of money.
Why do you say that? Do you think that using one more powerful amp would yield the same results as using two lesser powered amps?

Along similar lines, how much difference would you say adding all that extra power makes? Right now you can see in my sig line what I have, and I was thinking about adding an amplifier with some of my tax return money next year. My current receiver is rated 120x7 but that's not going to be RMS power with all channels driven. I was thinking about going with the Emotiva LPA-1 which is 125x5 + 50x2 RMS so that would probably be double the RMS power that my speakers are getting now... with the exception of the surrounds which wouldn't need tons of power since they are much smaller.

First, as "audioholics" we always feel like we need as much power as possible. There is no denying. And I would say that you are definitely an audioholic, just like me. So I would just save up more money and get a 200x7 RMS amp.

Now to answer the more important question. I am bi-amping my BP7000SCs and Tri-amping my CLR3000 with my Acurus 200 wpc RMS---I have four Acurus 200x3 RMS amps = 12 possible channels. I did a little experiment a few days ago while my two brothers, dad, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and two friends were over at my house. It was a very simple single-blinded test. I had them listened to 3 CD songs with mono-amp and bi-amp. I had them watched 10 minutes of Underworld Evolution with mono-amp and bi/tri-amp. The results? None of them could hear any difference. So basically, I'm bi-amping/tri-amping for nothing, except for looking cool because having 4 wires coming out of each speaker does look very cool.

But being an audioholic, would I use anything less than 200 wpc RMS? Heck no.

Edit: Well, the exception might be the new Denon AVR-4308.

That's all fine and well Acu...but that does not disprove biamping potential. With your setup, it may be entirely true that there is no audible difference. But it may, and I submit that it does in fact exist with other systems. The other variable is the huge variance of audible discernibility we each possess...or lack. The old men and construction workers are at the bottom of the list, so to speak. ;) My $0.02. Peace out.

Yes, I am very much an audioholic... Thanks to Craigslist, I just bought a 2nd set of BP8s for my rear surrounds, then just yesterday I found an inexpensive pair of BP10s (again on Craigslist)... so I just got back home about an hour ago and got them all setup... now I'm looking to unload the BP8s I just bought last week... I have an addiction.

The BP10s sound a lot better, and look better to me since they are larger, and now my sub isn't taller than my mains... but I don't now about a 200x7 amp as my surrounds are only rated for 125 watts... and I'm not sure I can afford that much amp right now, but I sure do want it. Now that my system is finally complete (for now... until I get the urge to upgrade again) I'll have to post some pics in the gallery when I get some time.

You are not going to use four of the BP8s for your surrounds? That would be awesome. BP10s for your fronts and BP8s for your 4 surrounds. Have you also thought of getting another single BP10 for your CENTER? Man, that would be a totally awesome center speaker!
I was thinking that in the future (when my HT Piggy Bank is filled up again), I would get another single BP7000SC for my CENTER, which means I would need a Hi-Def Projector and a screen 54" above ground since the BP7000SC is like 53" high.:)
But why stop there, right? If I had the money (in the future, of course), I would also get BP7000SCs for my surrounds!:D
Overkill? You betcha!
Crazy? You betcha!
Audioholic? You betcha!:D

I would use the BP8s for surrounds, but my room layout won't accomodate it, besides I really like the way the BP1.2xs sound, they fire more to the side, than front and back, so it seems more opitmal for use as surrounds. I would however like to upgrade to at least the BP2x surrounds, but right now my funds have already been streched too far due to this audio habbit of mine.
