Bi-amping with a receiver

So I am planning on slowly up grading my system. I just ordered two outlaw model 2200's to power my Studio 60 v3's. I am currently running them with a Yamaha RX-777 100wpc stereo receiver. So my question is when I get the mono amps can I use them with the receiver to Bi-amp the speakers? I am not thinking of doing this because i think it will change the way my system sounds dramaticly but because I was planning on using the RX-777 as a pre-amp for a bit so why not. So I assume that the receiver will control the volume equally right? It won't be off balanced right? Any thoughts would be cool.

Probably not a good idea. The amp sections will most likely not be gain matched in output. You ideally want to use identical amps when doing this.

If you had two different amps with adjustable gain controls on the back you could give it a try.

Besides the Outlaw amps are killer and will be more than enough. Bi-Amping is really only needed in large venues like movie theatres. Otherwise you wont notice much in a home situation.

Cool thanks for the info. I am sure the outlaws will plenty. I guess I will just have to use the receiver to power my new(time to go shopping) kitchen speakers. :D

I bi-amp my center channel, and have had only 1 problem.
My amp, and my receiver combined, are not strong enough to push the speaker to it's max rms (1200watts rms goes to a 2400watt rms speaker). But then again, it can push it to the point of rattling everything in the apartment, and piss off the neighbor's as their pictures fall off the walls.

To properly balance out my center channel with the other 6 speakers, I had to buy a 100watt L-pad.

But...with that being said...Since you are just running in Stereo mode, and the speakers you have are less then 200w rms, Anamorphic96 is right, there is no need to bi-amp them, the outlaws are more then enough.

Enjoy the nice sound.
