I have a Yamaha Rx-1065 reciever and the Klipsch RF-82s for my mains. The reciever has a second set of Terminals on the back for Bi-amping (additional 100w). If I remove the bridge from the Speakers and run an extra set of wires to the extra bi-amp terminals on the reciever; am I still 8 ohm?

I don't know much about the Yamaha receiver's, but what ever you have your A/V set to for speaker Ohms than it will be the same for all the channels.

Bi-amping is worth it, its Bi-wiring which is useless. Huge difference between the two.

Yes, you are still at 8ohm, but make really sure that the speakers you are bi-amping are indeed a true 8ohm load. You might not notice a big difference, depending on your receiver and speakers.
Just use common sense, and play safe (don't bi-amp, unless you are certain of your speakers 8ohm true impedance).

* I doubt that you'll notice a big difference, but it's worth a try.

** As for bi-wiring, I won't go there...

Thank you all for your responces. How would I test for True Impedance? I can't seem to find any information on the Klipsch home page.

It's a tough one. Without real impedance graphs from a review, you cannot be certain.
That's why I said to be sure first, or be cautious and give it a try (only if you really believe to be 8ohm speakers).
But how can you believe without confirmation from seeing the graphs of a review?

I'll say just forget it.
Or if you are adventurous, proceed at your own risks. :eek:
