Hi! What would be the best EQ and or room correction softwares for windows? All I have to work with is an spl meter.

Thanks so much! : D

It is a radioshack digital spl meter. I see it has an output thingie. I think that might be useful for stuff? Not sure, though...

Right now I'm just thinking to do tone sweeps and use the channel individual 18 band eq in my media player.

I also have earplugs from a concert I just went to. : D

Sorry for the triple post, but I can't edit posts here. x.x

I've heard stuff about correction charts, or something? Umm...I have a:

CAT.NO. 33-2055 [A]

Do you think you could link me to a correction chart for this spl meter? Thanks again!

hometheatershack.com has the REW software for room testing and has correction plug-ins for the meter.

Alright, I got REW, but it's making my brain die. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it.. D;

I got this excel file because I heard it was easier, but I don't know what to do with this either. D;;

Oh! And my brother's letting me use his tripod! : D

The spreadsheet allows you to add compensation values for your meter or mic if you know them. Doesn't do it for you.

REW, besides having an auto-plug-in for it, also measures impulse response and decay times. There are great tutorials on HT Shack in the REW/BFD section.
