I am looking for a really good book on home theatre. I want one that explains acoustics, video formats, and so on. Many guides out there, what would you guys recommend to get a good start?

Welcome to the forum!

The internet holds a wealth of information. One nice place to start browsing is right here. :) If you go to the Audioholics home page, the menu that is near the top of the page has two good sections on it..."AV University" and "Tips & Tricks". Both of those have sub-menus. The AV University might be a good start for you.

I'm reading the "Master Handbook of Acoustics". Marvelous :D

Ryan,

I don't personally know of any, but I haven't looked into it. I'd say take a look at the one that Djizasse recommended. Hopefully some others will chime in here, too, as I'm sure that there's a few people who know of some good ones.
