Whatever technology you decide upon, I would strongly suggest spending some time in front of the display you are going to buy. You may find you or your family members may be sensitive to DLP raindow effects and other viewing issues. I suggest at least a half hour viewing DLP to make sure you are not effected.

It can be very unpleasant for some people.

I don't find that the newer DLP sets, at least the Samsung ones I looked at, suffer from the rainbow effect, I think that problem has pretty much been fixed.

IMO, I would say as long as RPTV's are using a color wheel there will always be a problem with rainbow effect. However, most people do not see it...others do.

Eye sight and perception are funny things and some people are affected, others are not.

If you are affected like me or my wife, it can not only cause video artifacts but eye strain, head aches, and even motion sickness.

If you are going to spend your hard earned money, a good watch might be prudent. I too was sold technically on DLP, and it does have its advantages, but it just was not for us.

Now if I could afford a 3 chip design,than this discussion would be mute.:)
