Hi All,

I'm currently building my first HT setup. I only have 2 bookshelf speakers (using them as mains) and a center speaker. I plan on upgrading next year to some Floor Standing Speakers and a Sub. However, for now what I have has to do.

I currently am running my speakers through a HK DPR-2005 which has tons of different sound modes. Does anyone have any experience as to which sound mode is the best for a 3 speakers setup like I have?

Thanks

Default answer: Best sound mode is whichever sounds best to you. IMO, the way to do it is just turn off the speakers you don't have and play movies normally. The sound will be downmixed by your receiver and played back correctly via the speakers you do have so you are not missing any sound. I used to do the same thing in a former bedroom setup and it works OK.
