Best male singing voice ever...who has it?!

I still think Neil Diamond has the best voice. (The material and the act are another matter, of course.:))
 
Cannot comment on Rock or R&B because my listening pleasure resides with a different kind of music. However, my favorite male singers for different types of sound are:

For Musicianship: Mel Torme
For Range: John Gary
For Tonal quality: Vic Damone
For Style: Frank Sinatra
For Drama: Sammy Davis, Jr.
For The Show Stopper: Al Jolson

The best single theatrical tour-de-force performance I ever saw was Robert Merrill in "Fiddler on the Roof."

I gotta go with Maynard Keenan from Tool. From singing to screaming, he blows me away.

If you love that classic rock sound, check out the band Silvertide. Their lead singer can really belt it out.

First Choice that came to mind.

I just saw Lindsey Buckingham play last night - I'd have to put him in the running. And he sounds 100% as good as he did 30 years ago, which not many rock 'singers' can claim.
 
My vote goes for Anthony Green, and the singers from Sigur Ros or Mars Volta
 
Well, my favorite of all-time would easily be Freddy Mercury from Queen. He has an amazing voice period. Second, I would have to say Dennis DeYoung from STYX. Third would have to go to the lead singer from Rascall Flatts. Lastly, I would have to give a shout out to the lead singer from Savage Garden. Here is a video of him singing and all I can say is what a voice!
