I suppose that this is a sore subject, but, I intend to go with a "digital" HDMI cable that is not fiber optic (too expensive, 2 areas of digital conversion, just not convinced that this is necessary) I'm aware of the major companies, but I was curious as to your personal recommendations. Thanks

HDMI is a digital format that typically uses copper wire, not optical. No consumer out of the box product really uses HDMI over optical, and converters from copper to optical format are very expensive and only make sense if you have long runs in excess of 50 or now even 75 feet.

Normal HDMI is fine and if you want a decent brand take a look at www.bluejeanscable.com

Now sure at all why you would think it is a 'sore' subject. Digital is digital and it rocks.

Thanks for the input. I've been getting the idea that any of the good cables would probably work well. I've read many places that one should excersize caution with runs over 15-20 ft, hence my concern. I was afraid that asking about cables was like asking about oil on the Harley boards! LOL :)

This isn't the 'snake oil' boards - though you will find plenty of them out there... and a very few people here that stongly believe that a healthy dose of snake oil rubbed into your HDMI cables will definitely improve overall performance.

But, they are few and far between here.

Here you will find people that mostly believe that a zero, is always a zero and a one, is always a one.

Mostly.

No, no, not at all. Making claims unsupported is dangerous and brings out the challengers, like me:D
