Best Bang for My Buck

I am creating my first home theater system and have the Yamaha 675 AVR but now am looking for speakers for a 15x15 living room. The problem is that I have no clue what to look for in a 5.1 setup. Looking for set that can be used for movies, music and tv.

Here are some choices, but feel free to let me know if there are better options:

Sub -

Polk PSW10 for $125
PSW505 for $250


Front LR

Polk Monitor 60 II for $275 Ea
Polk Monitor 55T for $125 EA
DT BP8B for $175 EA
Klipsch Synergy F-10 for $150 EA

Center and Rears are still unknown at this point.

Any help is appreciated.

What is your actual budget?

Bang for buck for HT I like Ascend Acoustic cbm170 for fronts, fluance bi di pole surrounds for surrounds, and HSU VTF2 for the subwoofer... Entry level sub would be HSU stf2 a little more money gets you an svs sb1000, but the most bang for your buck is going to be getting the correct subwoofer...

You mean which sub? The SVS with the other speakers is what he's suggesting.

I would look for the Infinity P163 monitors x 5 for the 5.0 part. They often go on sale for $85 each. So $85 x 5 = $425 for 5 speakers.

Then get an HSU STF-2 Subwoofer for $375 delivered. Total = $800.

None of the above - and on your somewhat limited budget - I would
look at bookshelf speakers, and a different subwoofer.

If you give us a budget we can let you know what is the best bang for buck in our opinion... Like I would take the sub 1500 over the subs you picked if I was on a tight budget... or I would take the wave crest bookshelfs over all the speakers you chose....

out of what you listed, you would need to demo them and figure it out, I would stay away from klipsch {since I dont like them} the 505 will have more output and dig deeper than the other sub so go with that, and I guess the polk 60's...

However, maybe I just look at what you suggested in the other thread and "suffer" through it for the next few months until the move. I was just trying to get a happy median, but I don't think that really exists in my particular situation.

Bookshelf speakers and a decent sub for at least 3.1, can easily handle
your 15 x 15 room. Some of us know this, and it can be done for $700.

You would just need to decide from various/preference options. Some
will try to guarantee you this, or that is the best - however, it comes
down to you.

You need to decide which way to go, as far as a set-up.
