Going to sell the Yamaha v1600 and go back t o simple 2 channel stereo with maybe 2 small satellites...

I havnt used this 7.1 to near the -potential and I like to jam to the music more than watch loud tv movies..thanks to my wife..

SO I am wanting around 100rms and $150 max budget..

I loved my old HK..and so far its the only thing I have run across but its at max budget..

was looking at some old SOny ES stuff..

what I want is true watts no bs....

Any 100W receiver for $150 new is going to have an inflated power rating. I can't say whether you can find a real 100W receiver for $150 used.

Why not save $150 and just run the Yamaha in stereo? It will likely be a better piece of equipment than a $150 stereo receiver.

I am not looking for a new receiver...I am looking for an older one that has some balls....

the current HK 2 channel is supposed to put out 120 rms...

I am downgrading to get some of my money out of the v1600....since I dont need 7.1 stereo...

there is a reason for this

Receiver options

Keep the Yamaha. You wont get much for a 2 year old used receiver. Set the center channel to OFF. If you move or have more funds available you can set it back up for 5.1 or 7.1. You can also take advantage of its HDMI features in the future.

what do I need more funds for? I need funds to pay some stuff off not for expanding my ht system...thats why I am selling it...

I guess you guys are not understanding...

I see old receivers on Ebay all day for $200 that arent as good as this 1600 so I dont know what you are trying to say this receiver is worth.

I think they are just saying this is not a significant way to earn/save money. If you can sale your 1600 for 300 buck and then you spend 150 on a new AVR you didnt save/make much money and you have an inferior AVR.

If you need cash now get a pawn loan on the Yamaha. I have done that in the past. You won't get a whole lot in return for that Yamaha sadly. See if you have some broken gold stuff or maybe some tools you don't use anymore that you can sell as well. I have been in this kind of stuff for a while.:( It's rough, but you can get through it.

Sorry, didn't realize your way was absolutely the best. Yep, just sell it. You can pick up an array of decent stereo receivers from Harman Kardon (refurbs), or other used receivers and integrated amplifiers on Ebay. That's all the advise you will get from me if you want to act that way.

Stereo receiver

Jax,
Just pick up a replacement stereo receiver at a thrift store or pawn shop to save some money.
