My dad and I are working on a dedicated room for watching movies, listening to music, and playing video games(currently have a ps3). We are getting ready to get the room wired before we place the the dry wall up and I need help on the placement of the speakers. Also, we want all the speakers hung on the wall, except of course the sub.

First picture:
The red and yellow show where the cabinets, shelves, under the counter refrigerator, and a microwave are going to go. The blue is where we were thinking of placing a surround speaker, but my dad wants to put in some theater lights on that post and the one beside it.

Second picture:
That is the back wall where we really want have anything. That was another place we thought of placing the speakers.

Third picture:
The blue the the remaining speakers not too much of a issue. The red is the 100in projection screen.

The room is around 13Wx18Lx8H and with the screen that big we would probably sit 12 ft back which is right by that last poll where the blue circle is in the first picture. Please give some speakers and a receiver that would work good together because we are still try to decide on that. I was thinking of going with definitive technology, but any other names would be appreciated. I have also looked into the bipolar for the surrounds. We need to keep the price to around 1500 to 2000 dollars and I will probably look for the equipment on ebay to get the equipment less expensive. If there is any other place that is less expensive please let me know. Thank you

I can't find where I can add pictures from my desktop, Please tell me how and then you will be able to better help me with my speaker placement.

Hi. You can add pictures (either using attachments or by linking to them on another site) once you get to five posts. Just post a couple more times to get there (short, nothing posts are fine).

For acoustics reasons you’ll want the listening position about 11’ feet from the front wall, which is right about where you want the viewing position to be for the 100” dia. screen. Although 12’ won’t hurt much. If you just go for a 5.1 setup, the surrounds on the sidewalls about 3’ behind the listening position would be my choice.

SVS 5.0 setup - $689 https://svsound.com/products-spks-scs01.cfm
SVS PB12-NSD - $570 http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb12nsd.cfm

Denon 1910 - ~$550 http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR1910-7-1-Channel-Multi-Zone-Connectivity/dp/B002AKKFPI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262379465&sr=1-1

Here are the pics of the room.
I pretty much agree with AVRat. 12 feet is good from the display on the short wall.

My only clarification would be that rear speaker surround placement varies depending on surround speaker design.
