Crunch GPX10BP LED 10" In-Car Subwoofer Bass Box 600W

It's an enclosed sub with 300rms and 600w max. I want crisp sound and not a blistering sound that would make my car vibrate... I'd rather pay for a good deep bass than for too much noise! I want to mention I have a hatchback car.

These are just a couple of options from each brand. There are many more 2-channel options that can be bridged for mono use. IMO, Zapco is the best there is.

From my experience in car audio, subs can take all the power you can put on them. The power of the amps is limited to the power on hand provided from the vehicles electrical system.

Pretty sure we are talking about your basic vehicle with a single battery. An extra battery with an upgraded alternator will get the amps closer to their rated specs.

The amps I linked are examples. It was meant to open the eyes of the OP for posting he/she wanted "the best."

A quick search of the price of those units should get us a clarification of the budget.

When I buy something I usually want to understand very well what I am buying. So for a 300rms sub it's a good choice a amp with higher or lower w power? One dealer I went to said the amp should be lower powered so it doesn't fry the sub, while on some forums I read it's better to have it more powerful so it doesn't have to overheat in order to provide the sub needed power. Which one is it?

Feel free to give more examples of good amps for my car. The price range should be 150-200eur.

The correct answer about power is defined by the ability of the vehicles electrical system to provide the power to the amp. You are not going to fry the subs with any amp in your budget, so it should be of no concern.

The JL is a fine amp, and I recommend them highly.

Zapco and Arc are the upper-class of car audio.

As for the dealer recommending lower power, he may be basing that on your vehicle.

A lower power amp will clip(reach it's peak, and send a nasty signal) sooner than a high-power unit. This will be harder on the subs.

A high power amp like the 1000w amps I linked need to be used with a beefed-up electrical system. They too will have problems if they don't receive enough power from the vehicles electrical system. Properly installed, these will not fry your subs.

But, just get the JL. It's a solid performer, and you should be pleased

The best thing I would recommend is to use a mono(1-channel) class D amp. These don't pull as hard on the electrical system, and should return adequate performance.

My answer for your situation is that class D will provide the most power for car subs without pulling an extreme load from your vehicles electrical system. It's the best option for car audio subs utilizing the stock electrical components of the vehicle(non competition), and the majority of home powered subs use them as well.

Having a beefed-up alternator with an extra battery is a good idea with any system. If there is no room for the battery under the hood, a sealed battery is the best option for inside the vehicle.
