Hey guy's.
I am looking for a decent amp for 3 ch under $3000, More like $2000 range.
I have a pioneer elite 92 model and I decided it isn't loud enough.:D

It depends on your speakers' minimum impedance, but I would go for something that can handle 2 ohms just in case you might have speakers like that in the future.:D

Well, for $2K, I would definitely look for at leat 200 watts into 8 ohms, 300 or 400 watts into 4 ohms, and 400 to 800 watts into 2 ohms.

Example, the $1700 Emotiva MPS-2 delivers 400 watts into 2 ohms.

However, it has 7 ch, not 3 ch.:D

The only why I'm looking for 3 ch amp.
Is because I'am renting a house and i can't put holes in the wall. which sucks.
I heard rotel amps are pretty good. any other brands?

Odyssey Stratos HT3 was pretty good when I had it a few years ago. Check it out on their website odysseyaudio.com

How much power per channel do you want? What are you powering?

Since someone mentioned Emotiva, I'll just add that they are coming out with a new 3 channel amp (the XPA-3), spec'd at 200 X 3 (8 ohm) and 350 X 3 (4 ohm). Projected price is $649...estimated availability end of June.

I believe he's running at least JBL PT800s for R/L. How about an Anthem MCA 30.

See if you can pick up a used Aragon 8008x3. I had this amp for 4 years and loved it to death but didn't have the rack space to keep it after I kept upgrading other components.

The Emotiva XPA-5 (5 channel) and XPA-2 (2 channel) are currently available. The 5 channels version delivers >200 Watts per channel @ 8 ohms when only 3 channels are used and you will have a couple extra channels when you are ready to expand the HT. The XPA-5 and XPA-2 are $800.

I have the Emotive MPS-2 and it's a great amp. The MPS-2 is Emotiva's top end amp and is configurable from 1 to 7 channels using mono block amp modules or more using their stereo two channel amp modules.
