Do $200 floorstanding speakers exist, if they do they are probably not good.?? To find a decent pair of floorstanding speakers for that price you will probably have to find a pair used and $200 dollars still might be a stretch.

you could try some polk R50s, thats what i have and i really like them, and i only paid 79.99 each at frys.. looks like they just had them on sale again for that price or less because there sold out again http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4005092

but they will have them in stock and onsale again..they always do.
The only thing is you can only get them in cherry, the rest of my polk speakers are black but for that price who cares

Gazcat, if you live near Fort Wayne IN, you can get a pair of newish (open box) DCM TFE100 towers from Stucky Brothers for $149 + tax. It's a killer deal and the speakers are in good shape. They sound excellent. The manufacturer's suggested retail on these speakers is $798 a pair. They will not ship, you would have to come and get them. If you live in the tri-state area (Indiana, Michigan, Ohio), it's worth consideration.

Also try Ebay, Audiogon, and Craigslist. You will not find brand new floorstanding speakers that sound good for that price, anywhere. Used, or close-out you can.

is this to go with the 1k sub your looking for:rolleyes:
I take it these are for the stereo receiver, the second set.

In that case, why not get bookshelf speakers. They are cheaper and easier to fit in more places.

haha no... my situation is a little hard to explain. Got a room that connects into a bar room, and I have two Infinity Beta 50s in the main room and would like to add simple sound in the bar room. Subwoofer will be in the main room.

I second the recommendation of the Athenas, killer deal. Gazcat, location?

if these are going in a bar room why do you want floor standing, would it be better to get some bookshelf's hang in a corner out of the way?
