Hey guys-

So I ended up buying the P362s, the Denon AVR590, and have been using my Mission sub (which I don't love).

After getting everything set up, I decided that I wanted to plunge a bit deeper.

Just bought the PC350 as a center channel as well as 2 P162s for surround sound.

Next up, upgrade the subwoofer which doesn't seem to be really doing much when I listen to music or watch blu-ray. Could be my set-up isn't perfect but I can post details of that shortly.

What do you guys think?
Congrats on your new Infinity Primus speakers.

I also agree with others that your current sub should at least produce sort of low frequency. Place your hand over the subwoofer and see if you can feel the cone moving when there are bass/LFE happening.

Need to decided on a component rack or AV stand, not sure what I am looking for....

Thanks!

MC
How many components do you have?

Just see what they have at Walmart or other local stores first.

Some TV stands have plenty of room for 3 or 4 components.

I have a TV stand and 2 audio racks.

Thanks guys-

I do hear something from it but it just seems to be not adding to the experience with LF sounds. I will try moving it and maybe post a picture of my current placement when I get the time. My viewing position aI believe is about 13 feet away (once again, need to check as I am at the office) and it is about 135 degrees from viewing position (assuming the TV is at 180 degrees). I should probably mess aound with the controls on it as well

I am also not sure how I can test LF sounds. Is there a constant test mode I can run from my receiver on the sub so I can both mess with controls and experiment with placement?

BTW, I bought a Sanus A/V rack which holds 5 components and am going to leave TV on a wall mount.

Thanks again

Mike

I misspoke about the sub-

Going clockwise from TV to couch is 180 degrees, sub is at about 315 degrees (i.e. 10:30ish o'clock)

Thanks guys-

Could you please at least go through the following basic steps?

1. Use a SPL meter to level match the sub with the other speakers.
2. Set the Infinity L/R/C speakers to "small".
3. Set the crossover of the Infinity L/R/C speakers to 80 Hz.

Setting those infinity speakers to large or lower crossover frequency may result in bass cancellation between them and the sub.

If you still find the sub not producing enough bass for you, then try to move it around a little and see if you can get higher readings on the SPL meter from your listening position. Feel free to increase the receiver sub level output by an extra 3 dB after level matching.

If after these basic steps you still don't have enough bass then you should download some tones or buy one of the popular test discs to dial in the sub properly.
