No the rack mounts are not removable. They are part of the heat sinks.

The only way to critique a product is to have it in your house set up in your system. It really is a lot of fun & nothing's better than hands on. Give it a shot you'll be happy you did.
this is some really good advice he gave you,you can read everything & ask all the right questions but theres no comparison with hands on experience in your own system, not all amps perform the same:)

Man don't be such a wus!! I've done it quite a few times. I tried Axiom speakers, Aperion speakers, OHM speakers, AV123 Ref1 speakers, Benchmark DAC, AVcables (Jensen) ground loop isolator. Guess what? I sent them all back & didn't have a problem w/ any of them. In fact all their customer service were excellent w/ the returns. However the A500 amps from Parts Express are staying. Too good to send back. The only way to critique a product is to have it in your house set up in your system. It really is a lot of fun & nothing's better than hands on. Magnolia, NJ is right across the river from Philly. Are you farmiliar w/ Cherry Hill? I'm right in the same area. I take it you're further north. Would be more than happy to have you over for a demo. It's up to you if you think it's worth the drive. I don't know how far of a drive it is.

The GSP wouldn't work where I'm at. The Turnpike is ideal. I'm 10 minutes from exit 4 Runnemede. Any good?

Please discuss directions in PRIVATE MESSAGES or via e-mail so that the thread keeps a high on-topic signal:noise ratio.

Hip,
I have a Crown XLS 202. It is a greaqt amp. Lots of power, I am driving 2x50W Klipsch reference speakers (ceiling mount) with this amp and the sound is clear, unfiltered and very full. In sum, I am utterly happy with this amp, but... it has 2 single-speed fans that are not heat activated so they are always ON. Most of the time this is not a problem, but in quiet passages the low-level fan sound is audible and it drives me nuts. Someone else may not hear it, but I can. So I am now looking at getting a Behringer A500 since it is convection cooled. I am hooked on professional amps for 2-channel stereo applications and would highly recommend the crown if your amplifier is not in the same room that you are when listening or if to be used in a room with high background noise.

Quick Question for A500 users,

I plan to just leave the A500's on all the time. If you leave the A500 on, do you notice a pop, when you turn your reciever on?

I turn mine off & on. Not a big deal. I never left them on all the time. You'll be the first to know if you get a pop using the receiver.
