Behringer 2030P vs. The Speaker Company Bookshelves

I believe WmAx stated the 2030s had the flat off axis response. I don't know if that is replicated in the 2031s, but it's worth it over the bass response.

I understood that the 2030P's had the advantage in the midrange. I would take that and loose the extra thump in the low end. I think we are of like mind in our preference for the 2030P. It's practically unthinkable that one of us would just not get a sub. Even a cheesy one would quickly out do the 2031's low end capabilities. ADK is destined to put one in his office. It's only a matter of time.

He's got a pair of TSC bookshelves for that purpose. He offered to do measurements on the 2031's for me if I sent them to him long ago. At the time they were considerably more expensive and I didn't need the added shipping expense. That's for somebody with more money.

I can already hear JerryLove screaming,

NOOOOOOO !!!

The Truth is ... I don't know.

Sorry I had to.
LOL.:D

It made me laugh.:D

I would think that since the other Behringer products (speakers + amps) have such good reviews from many people that the subwoofer would also be good. But I have not heard a single person say anything GOOD about the Behringer Sub!

Behringer pretty much takes a beating in the pro audio world based on what Sensi and a friend of mine who is into recording and live audio have to say. A few of there products shine but the rest have earned them a bad name.

I wouldn't stray too far from what the guys here at AH have said good things about.

Squirrel some money away and get one of those Velo Mini Vee toys. They're cute.
I think he should build his own sub. Get the Dayton Reference driver Chris likes and have all sorts of fun.

+1 for Isiberian's recommendation

the 2031's are better for subless setups. the 2030's are better for subbed setups. I got that from reading all the posts on it.

The reasons to get these speakers are numerous.
1. Accurate response
2. Excellent Build quality
3. great value.

I've found numerous audio guys that use these in their home setups. In fact I was talking to a guy a pro-audio store once and he said he ditched his setup and put in these. If I were to buy speakers it would be these.
I second Isiberian's recommendation. These are some of the best speakers for the price and recently won a Audioholic's shoot-out.

I think you will be pleased with your choice of the Behringers.

Good Luck!
