Hello all,

Looking for some expert advice.

I'm looking to get a high audio quality, near field bookshelf speakers for my desk to replace my current Klipsch iFi.

I've read good things about Behringer 2030P, Mackie MR5, and the Audioengine A5 and was wondering if anyone here auditioned the 3 and wants to put in their 2 cents.

I'm looking at powered bookshelf speakers and if there is a pair better in this price range (200-400) i'd love to know what it is.

Thanks.

I have the MR5's hooked up to my computer. I've been very impressed with them, and the bass response is quite good. I haven't heard the others, but I do recommend them.

You might also want to look at the KRK Rokit 6's and 5's. Very impressive monitors for the money.

I'd recommend staying with the VX series Rokits. The RP series, at least the 2nd versions of them, lack dynamic headroom.

That's interesting. We have had no issues even at high volumes. Clean and effortless is the best description I can give.

Sheep has listened to both the Rokits and the Mackies at the same store and purchased the Mackies :D. WmAx has also done 3rd party measurements on one of the Rokit models either the 5 or 6. From what I remember he was pleased with what he found. :)
