height will be about 8' 2'' up to the drop ceiling.
went to an independant av HT store and they recommended the following:
Onkyo 703
HK 435 or 635(i think that's the number)
ONkyo 603
Denon 1906

when the wifey isn't in I like it loud and full.

when she is in I put on the wireless Headphones and turn it up.

I'm leaning toward the 635 if I can swing it.

i can't edit the above so
let me reiterate that i am
leaning toward the 635 or Onkyo

Do they have enough juice?

Larger dedicated HT

TDubbs,
For your large dedicated HT also conside the Yamaha RX-V2600 and Denon 3806. Both include plenty of power and features including HDMI. The new UL pre-pro and amp from av123.com are in the same $1k price range. The outboard amp makes this combo stable at >200 Watts into 4 ohm speakers and delivers more power than most mid-fi receivers.

P.S. In the future, try to start a new thread instead of hijacking one.
