Beeping sound coming from left speaker

Hi,

Just recently I've been having these strange beeping sounds coming out of my left speaker every so often. It only lasts a few seconds and I've never heard it acually come out while music was playing until tonight. It sounds almost like morse code.I've never had any problems with my stereo setup until now and I've had it for about six years.I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what could be going on? is this a normal occurrence?
Appreciate any info on this.
Thanks

sounds like ham radio to me,take a quick drive around your neighborhood & look for an antenna on somebodies house,if it is ham radio the owner needs to add a filter to his system.

i had a neighbor with a ham radio & once i told him that his rig was muckin up everybody in the neighborhood he altered his rig & we didnt have any more interference.

Thanks for the response!

I'm hoping you're right about it being a ham radio and not something internally wrong with my speaker or my receiver.I find it strange it's only coming from my left speaker though and the fact that it only happens at night kind of puzzles me.

That is the sound of the aliens calling you back to the Mothership.:D
Thank goodness I get strange beeps when they are part of the movie, not separate from it.
