BD+ Already Cracked...

Looks like the guys at Slysoft are still at it as they claim to have already cracked BD+ and say they will have a working product out by the end of the year. For those who are unfamiliar with Slysoft they have had working software that breaks the encryption on BD and HD DVD for quiet a while now.

I wonder how long it will take for Sony and any huge DRM fiends to learn that hackers have one goal and that is to rape any encryption that someone can come up with and they get off at the fact that they can do it first...Either way I think that BD+ the solution to all pirating has already been taken apart even though it has barely been in the publics hands for a few months in any actual media formats.

We need a more educated population about DRM and more artists speaking out against DRM and what it is doing to the world of fair use. While I don't condone stealing copyrighted material when I do buy it I love to be able to do what I want with my goods.

Sony should just give it up already. They are wasting too much time and money on copy protection schemes. I've yet to see anyone come up with a foolproof copy protection.

I'll be the first to put my neck on the chopping block,i'm all for pirating everything i can get my hands on,do the words monopoly & price gouging ring any bells, there isnt one end of the music or entertainment industry that has not made millions from ripping off its customers in one way or the other, weather it be from payola, price gouging, market monopoly ect.

Same goes for the artists, its hard for me to feel sorry for a band like Metallica (insert an actor here) crying about profits when they are some of the richest people in the world.

Im not interested in downloading music because ive no interest in the digital format but I download every movie i can as soon as it hits Veoh & would do the same with music if it interested me.

I say good for the nerds, two big thumbs up:D

I download most everything I listen to or watch these days. It's not illegal in my country though (we have better things to do then bust 13 year olds with some metallica). However, if I do like the music/movie or TV show I watch, I'll buy the real deal, or for TV shows, actually watch it (that's how I got into House).

I've heard musicians say they'd rather have someone download there CD and go to a concert then buy the CD. They make NOTHING off of CD sales.

CORRECT. They make very little off of CD sales.

And, anything that can be created in the digital realm in regards to security, can be broken. It's just 0's and 1's :D
